Cake Sale Fundraising Event (PPP) - 11/01/16

Cake Sale:

Today was the day we had our cake sale event, which was to help raise money towards our show. As part of the Marketing, Publicity and Fundraising group, my role was to be involved with the cake sale in some way possible. Before the event, I decided to publicise it on our twitter page. I also put in on my Facebook account, so more of our friends would see and would come along to buy cakes. I also decided that on the day I would help sell cakes, as well as baking my own cakes to sell at the event. I also asked Jodie to print off some of the posters, so we could place them on the table to promote our show more.

The Cakes I Made
I personally did not think the event would be successful. This is because I didn't think many people would bring in cakes and/or we would not raise much money. However myself, Robbie, Nina, Camay, Emilia, Maya and Poppy all bought cakes in - some were home-made and some were from the shops.

On the day, we set the table up in the main foyer and made it look presentable by laying the cakes out nicely. We also played music, so it would interest people.  We also got forks and napkins, so people could eat with them. At first, we set our prices relatively cheap, 80p for cupcakes or a slice of cake and 30p for everything else. However, when Josie came over, she suggested we raised some of the prices, as she could see we had put time and effort into most of the cakes. So, we placed some of the cupcakes at £1 and some at 80p. Everything else we either sold for 20 or 30p.
Part Of The Group That Helped

At first it was just myself, Indea, Camay and Eden who were selling cakeshowever later on Jess, Nina and Robbie came to help and other people left. The things that sold the most were the cupcakes. This was successful as they were the most expensive items, which meant we raised more money. Some people also came along and donate money, but did not buy a cake.

Overall, the event was very successful. Not many cakes were left and if there was any, we either sold them at a cheaper price, or ate them ourselves  We also managed to raise over £80 towards our show!
